Only half of the Spanish health professionals check the hydration status of their patients during routine visits
Study conducted by the European Hydration Institute (EHI) among about 2,000 Primary Care Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists and dietitians from six different European countries has revealed that scarcely half of healthcare professionals evaluate the hydration status of their patients.
Dr Jane Holdsworth, EHI director was interviewed by UK health journalist Gemma Haigh regarding hydration, her feature appears in the August 2011 feature of healthy magazine in the UK www.healthy-magazine.co.uk.

Healthcare experts and scientists back the creation of the European Hydration Institute (EHI), the first European foundation focusing solely on human hydration and its impact on health, wellness and performance. The Institute has been created to advance and share knowledge and understanding about this important health issue. After 12 months in development, the European Hydration Institute will be launched during the II International Congress of Public Health Nutrition to be held in Porto from 23rd to 25th September.
